Becoming a Member

Whilst we value your contribution to our vibrant community, at this time we are pausing access to the Brown Design Workshop for non-Brown University students, staff, and faculty.

Please check back on our website from time to time to be alerted to changes in that policy.

To become a member, simply come into the Brown Design Workshop, identify a Monitor (wearing an apron), and ask them to assist you in making an ID badge. It's that easy!

IDs are required whenever you are in the space. Please swipe in when you arrive and swipe out when you are finished.

To learn to use our tools, you can attend our workshops.

Typically, workshops cover skills for a specific tool, workshop and tool safety as well as best practices. Upon completing a workshop, you will be given a sticker that signifies mastery of the given workshop and will allow you to work on that tool, in the space, during monitored hours.
